Matteo Gazzolo 02Matteo Gazzolo was born in Rome.  He is an extremely creative and versatile actor, singer and musician, son of actor Nando Gazzolo, grandson of actor Lauro Gazzolo. Matteo is known for decades of theater activities and films:

Matteo is also a guitarist and includes sometimes his own electronic soundtracks to his theater performances.

MATTEO GAZZOLO  nato a Roma nel 1962  figlio d’arte è attore, cantante, narratore e interprete di poesia, insegnante di teatro.
Debutta in teatro nel 1976, all’età di 15 anni, poi lavora in televisione (RAI) e nel cinema , negli ultimi dieci anni si è dedicato molto intensamente alla didattica delle tecniche dell’attore. Lavora con i registi L. Bava, L.F.D’amico, S.Bolchi, N:Gazzolo, S. Sollima, C. Sestrieri, P.Fondato e molti altri.

DonatellodattomaDONATELLO D’ATTOMA After obtaining a degree in „Organ and organ composition“ at the Conservatory of Monopoli (BA) and a MA in Musicology at the Faculty of Musicology in Cremona, he began an intensive training course on jazz with Roberto Cipelli, Dado Moroni, Furio Di Castri and Emanuele Cisi.
He follows an intense concert career in Italy and abroad with Gaetano Partipilo, Marco Tamburini, Giovanni Falzone, Emanuele Cisi, Bjorn Vidar Solli, Hikari Ichihara, Robertinho De Paula and others. Finalist „C.Bettinardi“ Piacenza Jazz (ed. 2011), winner of the Conad Jazz Contest 2012 with the album „Logos“ with which it is invited to perform on the prestigious stage of Umbria Jazz Festival. In the research and musicological studies on the process of improvisation has collaborated with SIdMA and with the publishing house from Bologna Ut Orpheus overseeing the review and critical edition of some autographs of the twentieth century Italian music.

JOSH GINBURG Brooklyn/Berlin based bassist and composer  is one of the most sought-after players on the international jazz scene.
As a sideman, Josh has performed and/or recorded with countless jazz luminaries: Tom Harrell, Mulgrew Miller, Kenny Barron, Lennie White, Jeff „Tain“ Watts, Mark Turner, Robert Glasper. He is a regular member of the Kurt Rosenwinkel „Standards“ Trio, the George Colligan Trio.

ANDREA MARCELLI  (geboren in Rom)  Schlagzeuger und Komponist.
Von 1989 bis 1997 lebt er in Los Angeles, danach vier Jahre in New York.
Seit 2001 ist Marcelli in Berlin, wo er am Film „Good Bye Lenin“ mitwirkt und mehrere Jazzauszeichnungen erhaelt. Er hat bis jetzt etwa 190 eigene Kompositionen aufgenommen. Zwei seiner Kompositionen finden Eingang in die bedeutende Sammlung „The European Real Book“ und „The Digital Real Book part 2“.
Er spielt in den USA, Japan, Indien, Brasilien, all over Europe, Tunisia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique; Lebanon etc.
Mit: Wayne Shorter, Ekkehard Wölk, Don Menza, Bob Mintzer, Mike Stern, Bob Berg, Eddie Gomez,  Allan Holdsworth, John Patitucci, David Liebman, Markus Stockhausen, Ralph Towner, Eberhard Weber, Frank Gambale, Hiram Bullock, Harold Land, Wolfgang Lackerschmid and many others.
Als Bandleader veröffentlicht Marcelli pfünf Alben mit eigenen Kompositionen:
Silent Will und Oneness (Verve/PolyGram/Polydor KK) + Beyond the Blue, Sundance(2012), Stories (2015)

8th Italian jazz Festival in Berlin
An exceptional encounter between some of the most interesting musicians from various regions of the Italian Jazz scene and the Berliner Jazz scene.  Four unforgettable concerts at the Kunstfabrik Schlot on November 23.-26.  The Festival will open on 23.11 with a concert inspired by Luigi Pirandello, Nobel Prize winner in literature, for his 150th Anniversary, with creative actor/singer Matteo Gazzolo and pianist Donatello D’Attoma Trio.
On 24.11  „From Martin Luther to Claudio Monteverdi“ two jubilees in music 500 and 450 years! With the project of virtuoso pianist Ekkehard Wölk’s, Lutheriana and several guests.
On 25.11 will come a delegation of the Conservatory N. Sala of Benevento, a Quintet featuring pianist star Gianluca Podio and lyric Aldo Bassi on trumpet.
On 26.11 the return of the poetic Trio of pianist Carlo Morena and his own compositions. Representing the Berlin Jazz scene will perform Giorgio Crobu, Josh Ginsburg, Andrea Marcelli, Igor Spallati and Jörn Henrich.
Diverse musical „dialects“ fusing magically and directing toward a creative road always based on sincere musical dialog. The bands will propose both original compositions and rearrangements of famous Italian melodies from different parts and historic periods of Italy.
