Das Johanna Lucia Trio ist ein Projekt, das sich musikalisch zwischen Modern Jazz, Latin und freier Improvisation bewegt. Die Kompositionen der Pianistin Johanna Lucia Pohlmann sind oft von außermusikalischen Phänomenen wie Alltagsempfindungen und -erfahrungen, gesellschaftlichen Fragestellungen sowie anderen künstlerischen Disziplinen wie der Literatur, dem Tanz und der Bildenden Kunst inspiriert. Diese Einflüsse spiegeln sich in Form von musikalischer Narrativität und rhythmischer Vielfalt im Klangbild des Trios wider.Johanna Lucias Kompositionen, die sowohl von lateinamerikanischer Folkloremusik als auch von klassischer Musik (insbesondere der Romantik und dem Impressionismus) beeinflusst sind, können stilistisch im Modern Jazz verortet werden.Die unterschiedlichen kulturellen Hintergründe und musikalischen Einflüsse der drei Musizierenden prägen den Sound des Trios, der offen für Experimente und immer wieder neues Erforschen von Klängen und Formen ist. Kontraste zwischen lyrischen und rhythmischen Parts werden gesucht und in einen narrativen Kontext gesetzt.
The Johanna Lucia Trio is a project that traverses between modern Jazz, Latin and free improvisation. Johanna Lucia Pohlmann, the pianist, often finds herself inspired by extra-musical phenomena such as everyday experiences and sensations, social issues and other artistic disciplines such as literature, dance and visual arts. These influences are reflected on the musical narrative and rhythmic variety in her compositions as well as on the sonic image painted by the trio. Johanna Lucia’s musical style can be described as Modern Jazz, influenced by Latin American folklore music as well as classical (romantic and impressionism), resulting in an intriguing repertoire of original music. The different cultural backgrounds and musical journeys of the three musicians uniquely shape the sound of the trio, leading to a constant experimentation and exploration of sound, form and emotion on stage. Contrasts between lyrical and rhythmic parts are sought and placed in a narrative context resulting in an inmersive musical experience.
