…Neo Latin Soul from L. A.
Enrique Nambo (guitar, producer) & John Patrick Hurtado (vocals)
The two Californians with Mexican roots initially met at a music school graduation party and formed their band Vinyl Soul in 2004. Their fascinating fusion of bolero, soul, hip-hop and jazz was dubbed Neo-Latin-Soul by Billboard Magazine. Apart from winning a music award and showcasing their talent in various TV shows in the US, they played at legendary music venues like The Fillmore in San Francisco. Enrique previously worked with music greats like Ricky Martin, Shakira and Sade and writes the songs for Vinyl Soul. So does John Patrick, whose smooth, soulful vocals create a magic ambience and have the power to touch music lovers instantly, leaving the audience enraptured.
Andres Vega (drums)
He is the terrific, incredibly talented Alternative/Metal drummer everyone has been talking about for the last few years. What everyone wants – he has it. Andres beat is infused with all sorts of wondrous techniques and styles and sources. One such source is Tino Contreras, the premiere drummer in Mexico for decades, who gave Andres the opportunity to study under him. Andres expresses his softer side, equally versatile, supporting Vinyl Soul on drums.
Mona Seda (trumpet)
Born and raised in Zurich, Mona has been playing the trumpet since age eight. Early on in her music career she became a full time member of the Grammy Award winning Mariachi Divas for two years. In 2009 she teamed up with Vinyl Soul. Her jazzy and soulful trumpet playing would soon become a signature element of the Vinyl Soul sound. She currently lives and works in L. A., lending her phenomenal musical skills and inspiration to various bands.
